Save originals in your phone’s photo library too. Browser storage can be removed by the device; “saved locally” is not a server backup.
Sign in while online to download or sync. Offline work already on this device is retained.
iPhone: Open this exact address in Safari. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen → Add. Launch the new Ship Inspector icon. On some iOS versions choose “Open as Web App.”
Android: Open in Chrome and use Install app / Add to Home screen from the browser menu.
While online, sign in and tap Download Inspection. Wait for “Ready for offline work,” then check it in Airplane Mode before sailing. Installation and offline readiness are separate checks.
Sync on the phone, then sign in at this same address on the laptop. Saved notes and available JPEG review previews load from the server. Originals remain separate at full ingested quality. Use Download Inspection to keep a full offline package on each device.
Use your native Camera app and import photos here when practical; that keeps a Camera Roll copy. A photo taken through a browser input may not be saved to Photos automatically. Originals are kept in this app after sync; no automatic local deletion is implemented.
Browser storage is not guaranteed permanent. Do not clear browser/site data, uninstall this app or switch devices without exporting and confirming server backups. “Persistent storage” is a browser request, not a guarantee.
Previously downloaded work remains available offline on this device. Use your phone’s passcode and keep the device private. Server access still requires your existing Fantroy login; an expired session does not clear local data.
Original HEIC files are preserved. If your browser cannot display or convert them, keep the original and import a JPEG copy for blog use. Short videos remain a native Camera workflow in this first release.
The inspection log records actual dates, purpose, observations and supporting media. It does not establish that the sailing or any expense is deductible. Planned tasks and upload timestamps are not proof that an activity occurred.
Use practice/test labels and current actual dates. Test captures must not be represented as ship observations. Use at least 25 original photos across several venues, including portrait and landscape. Keep Camera Roll copies.
Record iPhone model, iOS version, photo count/approximate size and any failed step. The release is not accepted for sailing until these checks pass.
